L ast Sunday, Michael, Kevin and I (Jeff) played at a Unity Church gathering in San Juan Capistrano, a couple of blocks from the old mission. Michael was invited to come play some of his original songs as part of a benefit concert for a local charity.
The Women’s Club facility hold a little over a hundred folks, when it’s full. They have a great stage and the acoustics in the place weren’t half bad, either. We played four of Michael's original tunes (one’s that are not played as part of the One Foot In environment). Three other groups of musicians also played as part of the concert. We filled the stage with
our equipment and filled the place with music for over two hours, to the delight of all who attended.
Dennis Roger Reed, one of our good friends and partners in musical mayhem, organized the event as well as played some of his original music to an exuberant crowd.
It was great to have such an attentive audience and the whole experience made us long for more gigs like this.
