L ast Sunday, Michael, Kevin and I (Jeff) played at a Unity Church gathering in San Juan Capistrano, a couple of blocks from the old mission. Michael was invited to come play some of his original songs as part of a benefit concert for a local charity.
The Women’s Club facility hold a little over a hundred folks, when it’s full. They have a great stage and the acoustics in the place weren’t half bad, either. We played four of Michael's original tunes (one’s that are not played as part of the One Foot In environment). Three other groups of musicians also played as part of the concert. | We are now booked to perform at the Coffee Galley Backstage in Altadena, CA with the Dennis Roger Reed Band on January 20th, 2008. We did a gig in this great venue about six months ago and it was a blast! We are so happy to be returning there. Well, I believe we can get back to making some music. Next Saturday night, we will be at It’s a Grind in Lakewood (our unofficial home away from home) and It should be a good show. My hand has made some pretty good progress and bass-playing should go really well. I’m still a little light with the chording and small scale of the guitar, although I have been practicing. We are about to nail down a January date at the Coffee Gallery Backstage and things are gonna be groovin’ once again! The Dennis Roger Reed Band will be sharing the gig and we are looking to book another gig together in the Santa Monica/Culver City area, soon. We’re also on the lookout for appropriate places that we can jump into action with. If anyone knows a place where our music might be appropriate and welcomed. Please drop up a line through the website, here, and let us know. We’d like to start off the new year playing much more often!
